Looking for Some Christmas Crafts for Kids? We’ve Got ‘Em!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and that means parents are frantically searching for ideas on Christmas crafts for kids. Big or small, kids love completing crafts, and Christmas is the ideal time to spend some quality family time completing them. Or simply to keep the kids busy once the school holidays start. Is it just me or are schools and kindergartens finishing earlier and earlier each year?
Anyway, here at Squoodles, we know that hands on craft, art and making activities really benefit a child’s motor skills, coordination, creativity and problem solving skills. It makes sense then, that we have a list as long as our arms of Christmas crafts for kids.
Enjoyable Christmas Crafts for Kids
Ready for some fun?! We sure are and we know your kids will love these Christmas craft ideas too (and our arts and crafts products will come in very handy too):
- Handprint Elf – draw around your child’s hand onto card and cut out. On the palm area and the little finger and thumb, paint with a skin colour paint. Add googly eyes, a red nose, checks and a mouth here too. Paint the three middle fingers green and glue on a cotton ball or pompom to the top of them for the hat.
- Snowmen Pegs – great for clipping up artworks or decorations to the tree. Hunt out some wooden pegs and paint the whole thing white. Next using a felt pen, draw some eyes, mouth and buttons on the front. Tie a piece of ribbon or wool around the peg as a scarf and say hello to Frosty!
- Pinecone Trees – paint a pinecone green and add some glitter glue on the paint for some sparkles. Using a hot glue gun, stick on a range of sparkly ‘jewels’ or shapes. Then place onto some modelling clay or playdough to stand it up, or tie some ribbon around it to hang on the Christmas tree.
- Christmas Slime – what kids don’t love slime! We found on The Best Ideas for Kids website some great examples and recipes for Christmas slime. It’s amazing what glue, food colouring, glitter and baking soda can make!
